Karnoi, November 12 (Darfur24)
The town of Karnoi, northwest of El Fasher in North Darfur State, has reported the arrival of large numbers of displaced people fleeing El Fasher, while calling for urgent intervention to avert a humanitarian crisis in the area.
Thousands of residents have fled El Fasher since the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) seized control of the city last October, dispersing toward Tawila, Mellit, Kutum, and Khazan Jadid in North Darfur, as well as Ad-Dabba in the Northern State.
In a statement on its official Facebook page seen by Darfur24, the Karnoi Emergency Room said that about 450 displaced families had reached the town, most of them living in harsh conditions without adequate shelter, food, or basic supplies.
The committee appealed to humanitarian organizations and relevant authorities to act swiftly to provide life-saving assistance and prevent further deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Karnoi.
