Nyala, November 7 (Darfur24)

Eyewitnesses and local sources in Nyala confirmed on Thursday that six trucks transporting detainees arrived in the capital of South Darfur State from El Fasher.

Witnesses told Darfur24 that the convoy, which reached Nyala on Tuesday morning, was escorted by two armed vehicles and proceeded directly to Daqris Prison, located about 22 km west of the city.

The sources said the group included civilians who were arrested in El Fasher and later pressured into confessing that they were members of the joint forces.

In total, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) are reported to have transferred 83 detainees, including military officers from the security services, as well as several officials from the North Darfur government, detained over the past days.

On October 26, the RSF announced that it had taken control of the headquarters of the 6th Infantry Division in El Fasher — the last remaining Sudanese army base in the Darfur region.
