Al-Fula, November 6 (Darfur24)
Dozens of civilians, including women and children, were killed and wounded on Tuesday when drone strikes targeted the cities of Abu Zabad and Al-Fula in West Kordofan State, according to eyewitnesses.
In Abu Zabad, Omar Mohammedin Saeed, a resident, told Darfur24 that a drone bombed the city’s main market, striking an area where Starlink internet service was available and a popular café frequented by residents for tea and internet access.
He said the strike occurred during a peak crowding period, killing more than 40 people and injuring dozens more, who were rushed to Abu Zabad Hospital for treatment.
Witnesses reported extensive destruction to market stalls and nearby shops. Videos circulating on social media showed bodies lying among the rubble as residents wailed and searched for missing relatives.
Ahmed Ali, a resident of Al-Fula, said another drone strike hit the southwestern part of the city, killing 18 civilians and injuring a similar number. The wounded were transferred to Al-Fula Hospital.
The attacks have deepened fears among residents in West Kordofan, which has experienced growing insecurity in recent weeks. Local communities are bracing for the possibility of further strikes in other towns and villages as tensions escalate.
