Kadugli, November 1 (Darfur24)

Five children were killed and several others injured on Friday morning when a drone strike targeted a center sheltering displaced people in the Kalba neighborhood, north of Kadugli, the capital of South Kordofan State.

A medical source at Kadugli Referral Hospital told Darfur24 that the attack occurred around 11:00 a.m., when a shell fired from a drone struck the displacement center, which was hosting dozens of families who had fled violence in recent months.

According to the source, the strike caused the immediate death of five children and left several others, mostly women and children, with serious injuries. Seven of the wounded were admitted to the intensive care unit, while five others underwent emergency surgery.

Friday’s bombing is among the deadliest in Kadugli in recent weeks, as both warring parties have increasingly used drones to target civilian areas and displacement sites, raising growing concern over the worsening humanitarian situation in South Kordofan.
