Khartoum, October 14 (Darfur24)

Multiple military sources within the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Nyala, South Darfur State, revealed on Monday that several senior RSF officers were arrested by the military police about ten days ago.

Three informed sources told Darfur24 that six officers were detained on separate charges in September and October. They were initially held inside the Nyala Stock Exchange building before being transferred to Duqris Prison, west of the city.

According to the sources, three of the officers were accused of misappropriating funds from the Nyala Stock Exchange and diverting military supplies, including combat vehicles. The vehicles were reportedly intercepted in the Adikonk area while being transported to Chad.

The other three officers were allegedly arrested on charges of communicating with the Sudanese army and sharing sensitive locations in the city. Their phones reportedly contained messages showing contact with “hostile parties.”

Sources noted that these three officers were formerly members of the Sudanese army before joining the RSF, before the fall of the 16th Division Command in Nyala in October 2023.

Dozens of RSF personnel, including officers, are currently being held in prisons in Nyala on various charges.

According to the sources, the detained officers report directly to the RSF’s second-in-command, Abdel Rahim Dagalo.
