Darfur 24 learned today, Saturday, that the Chairman of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, his deputies, and the Prime Minister of the Sudan Founding Alliance Mohamed Hassan Al- Taishi(TASIS) took the oath of office on Friday, in Nyala, South Darfur, marking the beginning of TASIS’s parallel government.
Sources said that the Chairman of the Presidential Council, Lieutenant General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo and deputy , the leader of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N), Abdel Aziz Al-Hilu, and all members of the Presidential Council of the Sudan Founding Alliance were present in Nyala .
The sources indicated that Prime Minister Mohamed Hassan Al-Ta’aishi took the oath of office before the Chairman of the Presidential Council, ahead of announcing the members of his cabinet.
RSF Security agencies are imposing a strict security cordon around the delegation ‘s residences, amid tight security measures around the city, in anticipation of any emergency.
These developments come at a time when fighting between the Rapid Support Forces( RSF )and the Sudanese army (SAF )is escalating significantly, especially after the recent violent clashes between the party to the conflict and siege that being imposed on El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur by RSF. Meanwhile, the international and regional efforts have failed to persuade the warring parties to reach a political settlement or a permanent ceasefire agreement.
