Kadugli, August 15(Darfur 24)
On Thursday, the Sudanese Army airdroped supplies to its bases in the besieged cities of Kadugli and Babanusa, in a move aimed at supporting the forces stationed there with essential supplies, including salaries, food, medical supplies, and military equipment.
A senior military source told Darfur 24 that the first airdrop took place in Kadugli and lasted for more than forty minutes. The airdrops included soldiers’ salaries, food supplies, medical equipment, and military equipment for the 14th Infantry Army Division.
Kadugli is under a tight siege imposed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), and from the south, east, and northeast by the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N).
The source added that the second operation targeted the city of Babanusa, where another plane dropped food, medical, and military equipment to support the 22nd Infantry Division stationed there.
The RSF is besieging the city from all directions in an attempt to seize control.
The RSF controls most areas of West Kordofan, including Al-Fula, Al-Nahud, and Al-Khawi, while the army still controls Babanusa and the oil fields in Heglig.
The two airdrops supply come amid difficult siege conditions in both cities, with the army facing significant challenges in delivering supplies by land due to the ongoing fighting. Siege conditions.
