On Friday, Sudanese army (SAFdrones launched a series of airstrikes on Rapid Support Forces (RSF) positions in various areas of North Darfur, resulting in deaths, injuries, and the destruction of military vehicles.
Two identical sources told Darfur 24 that an airstrike targeted the western gate of the Rapid Support Forces base in Umm Kadada, destroying two military vehicles.
They indicated that the attack, which occurred on Friday afternoon, left four dead and two wounded, with no civilian casualties.
Umm Kadada is located approximately 170 kilometers southeast of El Fasher.
In the town of Al-Malah, 210 kilometers northeast of El Fasher, two sources reported that a drone bombed RSF gathering , resulting in casualties and the destruction of vehicles. The wounded were transferred to the town of Al-Koma. They added that the raids caused thick columns of smoke to rise from the targeted site.
Eyewitnesses and local sources confirmed that a drone flew intensively over the skies of Mellit for hours, without launching any airstrikes.
The newspaper was unable to obtain a comment from the Rapid Support Forces.
These attacks are the latest since the cessation of airstrikes by the Sudanese army’s warplanes more than four months ago. This followed the downing of a military plane near El Fasher last April, following the Rapid Support Forces’ reinforcement of their air defenses in North Darfur.
