Nyala, July 20(Darfur 24)
Two identical sources within the civi administration affiliated with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF)in South Darfur revealed on Sunday that arrangements for hosting the announcement of the Sudan Founding Alliance government (Tassis ) will be completed within a short period, following the completion of administrative and technical preparations in Nyala.
A member of the administrative committee tasked with developing the city—who preferred to remain anonymous for security reasons—told Darfur 24 that rehabilitation work on a number of government institutions had been completed.
He explained that the government secretariat buildings, the guest house, the army commander’s residence overlooking the Nyala Valley, and government houses in the employee neighborhood west of the market had been rehabilitated. He also explained that the Ministry of Agriculture and Urban Planning building, the Radio and Television Corporation, hospitals, and other government centers in the city had been renovated as well.
He indicated that the sovereign ministries would distribute their headquarters between El Daein in East Darfur and El Geneina in West Darfur, in parallel with Nyala, which would be the main capital.
The Tassis Alliance plans to announce a parallel government consisting of a 15-member Sovereignty Council, eight members representing Sudan’s regions by virtue of their positions, seven representatives of political forces, in addition to the prime minister and an executive government.
The official indicated that the reopening of the Nyala Grand Market was intended to stimulate commercial activity, in addition to the opening of a money exchange to facilitate transactions. Internal and external finance officials have opened branches in areas controlled by the Rapid Support Forces and some neighboring countries.
He emphasized that the coalition has confirmed the continuation of the Sudanese pound as the official and approved currency, with no intention of changing it at this time.
He revealed that logistical preparations are underway to officially reopen and operate Nyala Airport once the new government is announced.
The Tassis Alliance has formed a high-level committee to receive alliance leaders arriving in Nyala. This committee includes spokesperson Alaa Eldin Nugd, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Civil Administrations affiliated with the Rapid Support Forces, Al-Nazir Younis, and Chairman of the Rapid Support Forces Advisory Council, Huthayfah Abu Nuba.
It worth noting that early July, the Tassis Alliance announced the formation of a 31-member leadership council, headed by Commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, while Abdel Aziz Adam Al-Hilu was picked as deputy chairman.
