The Health Emergency and Epidemic Control Department of the Ministry of Health in South Darfur announced on Saturday the registration of 10 new cases of cholera.
It indicated that the new cases were recorded in Nyala North, 3 in Nyala South, and 2 in Bulbul.
It reported that the total number of cases since the outbreak on May 27 has risen to 279, with 21 cholera-related deaths.
Last week, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) announced that it had opened a new cholera treatment center at Al Nahda Hospital in Nyala, after 250 cases were recorded at Nyala Teaching Hospital.
South Darfur is the state most affected by cholera in the region, with the disease also spreading in East Darfur and North Darfur.
