Eyewitnesses reported on Sunday that 10 Internally Displaced People( IDP)swere killed and 30 others injured in a drone attack on a shelter in El Fasher, North Darfur.
Witnesses told Darfur 24 that a Rapid Support Forces(RSF) drone attacked a housing shelter of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the Abu Hamra Agricultural Project.”
Mubarak Musa, a resident of the “First Class) neighborhood, reported that the attack on the Abu Hamra Agricultural Project left more than 10 dead and approximately 30 wounded, most of them children and women.
Halima Musa, a displaced person in the attacked shelter, described the RSF attack as a “human massacre against children and women.”
Halima indicated that the death toll from the attack on the Abu Hamra Agricultural Project was higher than the reported figures.
A health source at the Saudi Hospital confirmed to Darfur 24 that it had received dozens of wounded, including victims of the attack on the Abu Hamra Agricultural Project.
RSF have not issued an official comment on the bombing of the shelter center.
North Darfur Governor Al-Hafiz Bakhit Mohamed said that the Rapid Support Forces, while withdrawing following the attack on El Fasher, bombed a shelter for displaced persons at the headquarters of the state’s Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources (the Abu Hamra Agricultural Project building).
He stated that the bombing resulted in the deaths of five displaced persons and the injury of more than 30 others.
The governor reported that the army and its allies repelled a ground attack launched by the Rapid Support Forces on El Fasher at dawn on Sunday.
The Rapid Support Forces maintain a firm grip on large parts of the eastern neighborhoods and some of the southern neighborhoods of El Fasher, while the army controls the western and northern neighborhoods, the city center, and parts of the southern neighborhoods.
