Khartoum, March 19?Darfur 24)

The Sudanese army( SAF) has tightened its siege of the Rapid Support Forces’ positions in central Khartoum and the Republican Palace, after cutting off supply lines to the besieged RSFforce, according to informed sources who spoke to Darfur 24.

Military sources said that fighting intensified over the past two days after SAF and allied groups advanced into central Khartoum and took control of positions previously held by RSF.

The sources confirmed that the fighting in several locations over the past two days resulted in heavy casualties among the SAF, but it was able to advance and besiege the RSF troops deployed in central Khartoum and the Republican Palace.

The sources indicated that SAF had positioned snipers at several positions, hindering the arrival of reinforcements for RSF affiliates besieged in the Republican Palace.

They stated that the Sudanese army is using advanced drones in its advance, which RSF were unable to disrupt or evade.

In the same context, other sources said that RSF has changed its combat plan in Khartoum, using motorcycles, light weapons, and advanced artillery.

The sources added that RSF sent military reinforcements to Khartoum and surrounded army forces that had recently advanced from the south.

The sources denied that the RSF fighters were besieged in the Republican Palace and confirmed that some roads were still open for supply routes, without specifying these routes.
