Al-Geneina , March 5(Darfur24)
Commercial movement between Chad and Sudan has resumed through the Adre border crossing after a halt that lasted for several days due to disputes between Sudanese and Chadian traders.
A Sudanese trader active in trade movement between Sudan and Chad had detained two Chadian citizens who had a relationship with a Chadian trader who refused to pay his dues amounting to 190 million Sudanese pounds.
The incident had caused border tensions that led to the halt of commercial movement via the Adre crossing, before the authorities in Al-Geneina handed over the detained traders to the Chadian authorities.
An employee in West Darfur told Darfur24 that commercial movement via the Adre crossing began to flow gradually after the handover of the detained traders.
The cessation of commercial traffic through the city of Adre has led to a slight increase in the prices of food supplies and some goods that come through the Adre crossing from neighboring countries.
