January 28, 2025 Nyala – Darfur24 Residents in Nyala, the Capital of South Darfur, reported on Tuesday about an arrest campaign conducted by RSF against civilians and military personnel this week in Nyala, on charges of espionage for the Sudanese Army.
An informed source told “Darfur24” that the number of detainees exceeded 20 individuals, including civilians, police officers, intelligence service members, and military intelligence personnel residing in the city after the army’s withdrawal from the state.
He indicated that among the detainees were “Mohamed Ahmed Abdulrahim and Adam Mohamed Badr,” who were transferred to the General Intelligence Service’s detention centers east of the city.
A source within RSF in Nyala, who preferred to remain anonymous, told “Darfur24” that the violence and killings against RSF by citizens have increased during January, coinciding with intensified airstrikes by the Army on the city, explaining that all of this is orchestrated by collaborators with the Army and former military personnel.
He mentioned that the arrests are in accordance with the directives of the Second-in-Command of RSF, Abdalrahim Dagalo.
Previously, an RSF source told “Darfur24” that the number of civilian detainees exceeds 400, including former military personnel and some civilians cooperating with the Sudanese Army, held in several detention centers, including Malaria Control Administration, Judicial Authority, Public Prosecution, General Intelligence Service Headquarters, and Darfur Crimes Court Headquarters in Almatar neighborhood.
