January 25, 2025 Um-Dafoug – Darfur 24 Eyewitnesses from the town of Um-Dafoug, located on the border with the Central African Republic, uncovered the killing and injuring of 11 Sudanese people, due to disputes over entry of cattle into a citizen’s farm inside Central Africa.
Um-Dafoug is located 400 kilometers southwest of Nyala, the Capital of South Darfur.
A Darfur 24 correspondent from Um-Dafoug said that “4 people were killed and 7 others injured in the area between Ramla and Mamoun area, 112 kilometers west of Um-Dafoug, after cattle entered a farm.”
He reported that the farm owner found his crop damaged the morning after the cattle entered, prompting him to trace the animals reached their location, while the cattle owner denied the allegations.
The correspondent added: “The farmer informed his brothers and a discussion ensued that escalated into a gunfight, resulting in the immediate death of 4 people from both sides.
” He revealed that a local committee authorized by the two countries to resolve the disputes between the herders and farmers. The committee works to hear all parties and sit with them to resolve the dispute and defuse tension in the area.
