Exclusive – Darfur 24
Three people were killed on Friday, during tribal clashes in one of the villages adjacent to Furbarnaga locality, 160 km south of the city of El Geneina, the capital of West Darfur state.
Sources told “Darfur 24” that “a quarrel broke out between two young men in the market in the Manqarsa area and developed into a tribal problem after a number of attendees clashed.”
The sources indicated that one of the young men was killed on the spot, while two others were injured and taken to Forbaranga Hospital, but they died.
For his part, the head of the Civil Administration in West Darfur State, Tjani Al-Tahir Karshoum, revealed in statements to “Darfur 24” that a security force and the Committee for Peaceful Coexistence moved from the localities of Habila and Forbaranga to contain the incident that occurred in the Mengersa area.
He stated that the situation was under control after the intervention of the civil administrations, calling on citizens to be united and cohesive and not to pay attention to rumours.
