The International Organization for Migration’s Displacement Matrix IOM announced on Tuesday the displacement of approximately 910 individuals from the village of Abyat Jlidat in Um Kadada locality, North Darfur.
The organization said in a statement that the displaced people fled due to heavy rains and floods that hit the area on August 23, 2025, while the displaced people moved to open areas within the same locality, according to the statement.
Field teams estimated that 182 homes and several shops were destroyed, while 210 homes were partially damaged, according to reports.
Heavy rains and floods previously hit the city of Dar es Salaam in North Darfur State, displacing 87 families, according to preliminary estimates by IOM field monitoring teams.
