El Geneina, October 05 (Darfur24)
Ten people were killed and 17 others injured on Sunday in drone strikes targeting several locations in El Geneina, the capital of West Darfur State, according to local sources.
Sources told Darfur24 that a military drone, believed to belong to the Sudanese army, flew over the city for an extended period in the early hours of Sunday before launching several missiles at the Umm Duwain Bridge and the stock exchange site east of El Geneina.
The sources said one strike targeted vehicles being used for maintenance work on the Umm Duwain Bridge, while another hit the stock exchange site, striking a DAF truck carrying food supplies to Al-Daein.
Cities and areas in Darfur controlled by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have periodically come under drone and airstrikes, while the warring parties have traded accusations over attacks on civilians and infrastructure.
