The Ministry of Education and Guidance in Sudan’s Founding Alliance (TASIS) government announced Tuesday the results of the secondary school certificate examinations held in areas under its control in Darfur and parts of Kordofan.
Yusra Hamed Adam achieved the highest overall score, with 91.7%, according to the ministry.
The results were published through an electronic platform, which the government said had been authorized to release the examination results.
The TASIS government conducted the exams in June, with more than 10,000 students participating. The examinations were held separately from those organized by authorities in army-controlled areas, marking the first time since the outbreak of war in April 2023 that Sudan’s secondary school certificate exams have been conducted separately in territories controlled by the rival sides.
Communications and Digital Transformation Minister Amer Toto said the online platform was designed with cybersecurity measures to protect the results from hacking and disruption.
The results were announced in Nyala, where students accessed their grades electronically, and celebrations were reported.
The separate examinations reflect the growing institutional division caused by Sudan’s war, with rival authorities establishing parallel administrative and educational systems in areas under their control.
