At least 22 people were injured when a vehicle carrying passengers overturned near the town of Al-Malha in North Darfur State on Friday evening, according to local sources and emergency responders.
Three local sources in Al-Malha told Darfur24 that the vehicle was transporting passengers from the Jabal Issa area, northwest of the town, to a nearby farm when it overturned.
A medical source at Al-Malha Rural Hospital told Darfur24 that 13 of the injured were taken to the hospital, including five people who sustained serious injuries.
The Jabal Issa Emergency Room said in a statement posted on its official Facebook page that the crash left all 22 passengers with injuries ranging from fractures to cuts and bruises. It added that the most critical cases were transferred to Al-Malha Hospital for treatment.
The emergency room also said one of its volunteers, Anwar Musa Ibrahim Suleiman, suffered a fracture in the accident and is receiving medical care.
