Dilling, May 22 (Darfur24)
Three civilians were killed and seven others injured, some critically, after a drone strike believed to have been carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) targeted a civilian transport vehicle in the city of Dilling on Wednesday.
According to a nurse at Dilling Hospital who spoke to Darfur24, the vehicle was carrying civilians attempting to flee the city in search of safety amid escalating violence in the region.
The nurse said the wounded were transferred to hospitals inside the city for treatment, adding that the attack caused widespread panic among residents and heightened fears over continued attacks on civilians.
In a separate incident, an employee at the Health Services Administration told Darfur24 that drones believed to belong to the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North, allied with the RSF, bombed the administration’s medical warehouse on Wednesday evening.
The source said the strike completely destroyed the warehouse and its stock of medicines and medical supplies.
According to the employee, the facility contained medicines for children, vaccines, vaccine storage carriers, spraying equipment, and protective clothing, raising concerns about the impact of the attack on healthcare services and medicine supplies in the area.
Dilling and surrounding areas have witnessed intensified clashes in recent days between the Sudanese army and allied forces on one side, and the RSF and the SPLM-North on the other, following the army’s recapture of Al-Takma village east of Dilling and the reopening of the road linking the city to Habila locality.
