Sudan’s Prime Minister, Mohamed Hassan Al-Ta’aishi, issued ministerial decrees on Thursday appointing new ministers for the General Education and Oil and Energy portfolios, as part of efforts to complete the executive structures of the Government of National Unity.

Resolution No. (1) of 2026 stipulated the appointment of Koko Mohamed Jagdol Badi as Minister of General Education, to develop the education sector and address the major challenges facing it, according to the decree.

The resolution stated that the new minister is expected to contribute to building a modern, inclusive, and equitable education system that reflects Sudan’s historical and contemporary diversity and advances the founding objectives of the peace government.

Meanwhile, Resolution No. (2) of 2026 provided for the appointment of Al-Basha Muhammad Al-Basha Tabik as Minister of Oil and Energy, pursuant to Article (73), paragraph (a), of the 2025 Transitional Constitution of the Republic of Sudan.

The decree explained that the appointment aims to support reconstruction efforts, strengthen vital economic sectors, and address challenges resulting from the war in a way that enhances the efficiency of energy production and distribution and contributes to economic stability.

Al-Ta’aishi said the two appointments come within the framework of the government’s efforts to improve executive performance, ensure the provision of basic services, and create an enabling environment for managing key sectors in the interest of the Sudanese people.
