Al-Tina, January 18, (Darfur24)

The Emergency Room in the border city of Al-Tina reported that more than 103 civilians, including women, children, and herders, have been killed, and at least 88 others injured, during ongoing fighting in northwest Darfur over the past week.

Emergency Rooms are community-led volunteer networks, formed by youth and activists to respond to crises in their neighborhoods or towns.

In a statement posted on its official Facebook page and reviewed by Darfur24, the Emergency Room said the areas of Qadir, Sasa, Andur, Jirjira, Hajo, Mastoura, Khazan Basu, and several surrounding villages have been subjected to repeated attacks by the Rapid Support Forces. The statement said the assaults included looting of property, livestock theft, and the burning of villages.

The Emergency Room reported that more than 18,000 families have fled to border areas, where displaced civilians, particularly women and children, are living in open areas under severe fear and insecurity, following repeated reconnaissance drone activity and ongoing ground attacks.

It added that Al-Tina, already hosting large numbers of displaced families in shelters and with host communities, has come under renewed attacks, forcing residents to flee for the third time since the conflict began.

“The attacks and drone strikes have continued since December 22, 2025, until yesterday, Friday, targeting public facilities and institutions,” the statement said, noting that most services have been disrupted, with some operating only partially.

The Emergency Room said recent violence has triggered widespread internal and cross-border displacement. Many residents initially sought refuge in Al-Tina before fleeing to surrounding valleys, while others crossed into Chad or settled along the border strip.

The statement concluded with an appeal to the international community, humanitarian organizations, and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to urgently intervene to protect civilians, monitor violations, and provide emergency humanitarian assistance.
