The Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) field monitoring teams of the International Organization for Migration estimated that approximately 3,200 people were displaced from several villages in Karnoi locality, North Darfur State, between January 11 and 13, 2026, due to the deteriorating security situation in the area.

According to DTM reports, the affected villages include Furawiya, Hanqala, Kur, Qarsalba, Qatata, Qasimba, Kartina Bus, Bujurba Hallat Arjab, Bujurba Hallat Abu Musa, Matrabah, Buki, and Haramba.

The DTM stated that the vast majority of displaced families crossed the border into Chad amid escalating insecurity and instability.

It added that the situation remains tense and subject to rapid change, noting that monitoring teams continue to track developments and will provide updated information on displacement and population movements inside Sudan.
