Al-Tina, December 1 (Darfur24)

Two people were killed and eight others injured in a traffic accident on Sunday in the town of Toki, along the road connecting Al-Tina, on the Sudan–Chad border, and Karnoi in North Darfur.

Ibrahim Ahmed Hamed, an eyewitness, told Darfur24 that a commercial Land Cruiser carrying goods and passengers overturned several times while traveling from Al-Tina to Dur in Karnoi locality. He attributed the accident to the driver’s recklessness.

Hamed said two passengers died instantly, while eight others sustained injuries, some of them in critical condition. All the injured were transported to a Chadian hospital near the Sudanese border for treatment.

The Sudanese police in Al-Tina have opened a case regarding the incident, and the vehicle, along with its cargo, has been transported back to Al-Tina.
