Dilling, November 19 ( Darfur24)
Dilling Teaching Hospital in South Kordofan continues to face severe limitations in medical services, health sources reported, despite resuming operations on Sunday, November 17, in the Al-Toumat neighborhood after a temporary suspension due to security and logistical challenges.
Sources told Darfur24 that most hospital departments remain non-functional. Only the operating rooms and isolated care units are working, while basic examinations are limited, and services such as eye tests and most laboratory analyses remain unavailable. Patients are often forced to turn to private clinics or the military medical corps for care.
While the health insurance service is operating normally and renewals for beneficiaries continue, the shortage of essential medical equipment restricts patients’ access to services within the government hospital.
A source explained that some equipment was moved to the health insurance unit, while the remainder is unusable or completely out of order.
The situation highlights ongoing challenges in the region’s health sector, with residents and medical staff calling for urgent provision of equipment and the rehabilitation of critical departments to restore essential services for Dilling and the surrounding areas.
