Nyala, November 18 (Darfur24)
Sources in Nyala, the capital of South Darfur State, reported on Tuesday the mysterious disappearance of Dr. Rashid Mohamed Ahmed Abdullah, the director of the Turkish Hospital.
A relative of the missing doctor told Darfur24 that Dr. Mohamed maintained a consistent daily routine, leaving home in the morning and returning in the evening. However, on Monday, he left early and has not returned since.
The family has begun filing a missing-person report with the police.
According to the relative, Dr. Mohamed discovered an electrical fault in the hospital’s transformer earlier in the day and called a specialist engineer to repair it. Hospital staff later informed the family that he had left the facility in a hospital vehicle at around six o’clock in the evening.
A medical source told Darfur24 that Dr. Rashid had recently been threatened with dismissal from his position by the medical department of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
Meanwhile, residents reported that an armed group attacked a doctors’ rest area in central Nyala with a grenade ten days ago, injuring several doctors.
