Al-Junaynah, November 1 (Darfur24)
The Prime Minister of the Founding Government, Tasis, Mohamed Hassan Al-Ta’aishi, affirmed that Sudan is going through a historic turning point that requires unity and concerted national efforts to end the war and achieve lasting peace.
In a speech broadcast on Friday, Al-Ta’aishi said that the founding government is advancing its national project to establish a civil and democratic state based on justice, equality, and freedom.
He stated that the recent victories in El Fasher and Bara mark a pivotal moment in the course of the conflict, stressing that Darfur is now under the control of the founding government. He added that the next phase will focus on consolidating security and building state institutions on modern, professional foundations.
Al-Ta’aishi reaffirmed his government’s full commitment to international humanitarian law and the protection of civilians, noting that the abuses that occurred in El Fasher were isolated incidents that do not reflect government policy. He emphasized that those involved will be held accountable.
He said the government had instructed relevant agencies to strengthen security deployment in the states, particularly in El Fasher, and to work to restore state authority and enforce the rule of law. He announced a comprehensive emergency plan that includes mine clearance, ending military manifestations, deploying civilian police, and reactivating government institutions.
The Prime Minister revealed the formation of a specialized civilian protection force operating within the government’s security structure and under the command of a senior officer, stressing that protecting citizens is a top priority.
Al-Ta’aishi called for an immediate and unconditional cessation of hostilities, the urgent opening of humanitarian corridors, and a transparent, impartial investigation into all violations. He held what he described as the leadership of the “Islamic Movement Terrorist Army” responsible for the destruction and suffering inflicted on the country.
