El Fasher, September 10 (Darfur24)

At least nine civilians were killed and seven others injured on Monday in renewed clashes between the Sudanese army, backed by allied forces, and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur State.

Eyewitnesses told Darfur24 that the RSF launched heavy artillery and drone attacks on residential areas in the early morning hours.

Mayor Adam Wad Al-Sheikh told Darfur24 that six people were killed instantly, while three others died later at the Saudi Hospital. Ten more were reported seriously wounded.

Military sources said the army repelled the RSF assault on the city’s northern front. The RSF has not issued an official statement on the renewed fighting.

Doctors in El Fasher warned that dozens of wounded civilians remain at risk due to a critical shortage of blood supplies and the near-collapse of the city’s remaining medical facilities.
