Adre, June 26(Darfur24)The Consulate General of the Republic of Sudan in the Chadian city of Abeche announced that alternative exams will be held for Sudanese refugee students in eastern Chad at a later date. This is due to the difficulty of meeting the exams scheduled to begin on June 29.
The Sudanese Embassy in N’Djamena recently received approval from the Chadian authorities to hold the Sudanese Certificate exams in refugee camps.
The Sudanese Consulate in Abeche said in a statement, “Given the difficulty of meeting the Sudanese Certificate exams, which begin on June 29, we would like to reassure students and their parents that we have received a decision from the competent authorities in Sudan to hold alternative exams for Sudanese refugee students in eastern Chad.”
The statement indicated that the timing of the alternative exams will be determined later in coordination with the relevant Chadian authorities.
Chadian authorities have agreed to allow the Sudanese national certificate exams to be held on its territory, following a decision to ban them last December, which sparked a wave of official and popular reactions.
