Port Sudan, April 27(Darfur 24)
The Chairman of the Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, announced on Saturday a review of the armed forces’ doctrine, introducing an offensive doctrine as a precaution, replacing its previous defensive doctrine.
During his address at the launch of the initiative to support war victims, al-Burhan said that the armed forces have never possessed offensive weapons throughout their history, which necessitates a review of this policy and the adoption of precautions to be able to repel attacks.
He stated that some countries and political parties are siding with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), stressing that they are on the path to )”annihilation and destruction.” He also pointed to an end to the bombing of power stations with drones.
Al-Burhan warned of the dangers of tribal polarization, before issuing a warning to those fighting with RSF that their fate will be the same as that of those killed in Khartoum, Al-Jazeera, and El Fasher.
For his part, Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Yassin Ibrahim Yassin said that the plot against Sudan is being perpetrated by countries and some weak-willed individuals.
He emphasized that the Sudanese people are capable of defeating these plots through solidarity and cooperation.
