Sources told Darfur24 that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have made extensive changes to the Omdurman sector, including the military command, intelligence, and operations management.
The sources stated that the RSF leadership appointed Major General Abdelrahman Jumaa Barakallah as commander of the Omdurman sector, in addition to changing the intelligence and operations departments in the same sector.
The United States imposed sanctions on Major General Abdelrahman Jumaa Barakallah, accusing him of overseeing human rights violations in West Darfur while he was the commander of the RSF there.
The sources indicated that the RSF intelligence is conducting a comprehensive review of all forces present in Omdurman after the emergence of elements within them described as “agents” working for the Sudanese army.
The RSF withdrew from Khartoum last week after clashes with the Sudanese army, but still stationed in several locations in Omdurman.
