January 26, 2025 El-Fasher – Darfur24 Four civilians were killed and about five others injured on Saturday in an airstrike by the Army on the village of “Hilla-Jadid,” located 9 kilometers west of El-Fasher, the Capital of North Darfur.

Eyewitnesses told “Darfur24” that an RSF force, after fleeing Friday’s battles, took refuge among civilians in the villages of “Farshlag, Hilla-Jadid, and Hilla-El-Zain,” prompting the air force to launch scattered airstrikes around these villages.

Mohamed Ahmed Jado, a resident of “Hilla-Jadid,” told “Darfur24” that four civilians were killed and five others injured in the Army’s airstrike.

Jado said that RSF stormed Shagra area and looted shops in the market on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Mahmoud Adam Hassan revealed that about 42 houses were burned in the village of “Hilla-Sheikh,” located about 7 kilometers northwest of El-Fasher, due to an exchange of fire between the Army and RSF.

The Army and the Joint Forces of the allied Armed Movements announced that they had repelled an RSF attack on El-Fasher on Friday morning from multiple directions.

RSF has been launching attacks on El-Fasher since May 10, 2024, in an attempt to capture the last Army stronghold in Darfur. However, the Army and its allied Joint Forces have been fiercely defending the city.

The United Nations’ International Organization for Migration (IOM) reports that the ongoing battles in El-Fasher have displaced more than 423,000 people between April 1 and December 16, 2024.
