September 9, El Fasher — On Monday, Sudan’s army and allied forces shot down about 30 Rapid Support Forces (RSF) drones in El Fasher, capital of North Darfur, the allied movement’s spokesman, Major Ahmed Mustafa, told Darfur 24.
The army also said it had thwarted the “largest drone attack on El Fasher” on Sunday.
He said that the drones were carrying 120 mm and 85 mm shells, targeting the northwestern axis of of the city.
Sources from the Sudanese Army also confirmed to Darfur 24 that it used anti-aircraft guns to deal “professionally” with drones launched by RSF on Sunday. 24 were allegedly shot down while six others were intercepted.
Other military sources in the eastern axis revealed that the army and movements seized 19 drones in one of the RSF headquarters south of Al-Manhal, following air strikes launched by the army on gatherings east of El-Fasher on Saturday evening.
