In statements to “Darfur 24,” Minawi described the final statement of the Cairo conference as a “theatrical play,” saying that “we observed features before the conference indicating that some arrangements had been prepared in advance.”
Minawi said that the final statement was made without their approval, noting that the issue of condemning the Rapid Support crimes represented a point of contention, in addition to the fact that the conference agenda was not discussed in detail.
Minawi explained that the positions of the other parties are unclear and confused due to the overlapping of relations with the Rapid Support and the UAE with the continued violations, at a time when he renewed his willingness to sit with everyone, demanding clarity of positions, according to him.
