Khartoum, October 08 (Darfur24)

The spokesperson for the Sudanese Dialogue Preparatory Committee, Osman Mirghani, said the committee met with seven European ambassadors in Cairo and received political support for its efforts to prepare for a Sudanese dialogue.

Mirghani told Darfur24 that the meetings included the European Union ambassador and a separate meeting with Norway’s ambassador to Sudan. He said the ambassadors expressed “a positive spirit” toward cooperating with the committee.

Mirghani categorically denied that the committee had requested financial or other material support from external parties, stressing that the support received from the ambassadors was political and related to the dialogue process.

He added that the committee was continuing consultations with the Sumud Civil Democratic Alliance of Revolutionary Forces as part of preparations for the Sudanese dialogue.
