Al-Junaynah, June 19 (Darfur24)

The Founding Alliance, TASIS, has suspended the activities of the international medical organization Doctors Without Borders (MSF) in areas under its control, citing reports of alleged human rights violations and sexual exploitation involving Sudanese refugees in eastern Chad.

Prime Minister Mohamed Hassan Al-Ta’aishi issued Decision No. 27 ordering the suspension of all MSF activities based on recommendations from a ministerial committee that reviewed reports related to the allegations.

According to the decision, the measure was taken to safeguard the dignity of Sudanese citizens and ensure accountability for any violations of their rights.

The decision also established a fact-finding committee jointly headed by the Ministers of Justice, Foreign Affairs, and Health, with representatives from the Public Prosecution, Military Intelligence, and the Police.

The committee has been tasked with investigating the allegations and submitting its findings within 30 days.

Authorities said the committee will also oversee measures aimed at ensuring that the suspension does not disrupt the delivery of humanitarian and health services to civilians who rely on assistance in areas under the government’s control.

In its statement, the government said the decision reflects its commitment to protecting the rights of Sudanese citizens and upholding the principles of justice and accountability.

The government also praised the judicial measures reportedly taken by Chadian authorities against individuals accused in the case.

Neither Doctors Without Borders nor Chadian authorities had publicly commented on the decision at the time of publication.
