Nyala, June 05 (Darfur24)

The Sudan Founding Alliance (TASIS) has announced that Sudanese Certificate Examinations will begin on June 7 across areas under its control in Darfur, following a three-day postponement intended to give students additional time to reach examination centers.

Speaking at a press conference in Nyala, Information Minister and government spokesperson Khalid Danaa said all technical, administrative, and security arrangements had been completed for the exams, which will be held in 77 main centers and eight emergency centers.

Danaa said the government moved forward with organizing the examinations after efforts to establish a unified national exam process failed, accusing authorities in Port Sudan of rejecting initiatives aimed at conducting the exams jointly across Sudan.

The head of the Higher Supervisory Committee for the examinations, Hafez Omar, said more than 9,000 students are registered for the academic track, with candidates also sitting for arts, industrial, and Islamic studies examinations. Students from Darfur, Kordofan, the Nuba Mountains, Blue Nile, and central Sudan are expected to participate.

Authorities said students arriving up to one day before the start of the exams will be allowed to sit for them, while emergency centers have been prepared to respond to any unforeseen developments during the examination period.
