Adré, May 11 (Darfur24)

Authorities overseeing the alternative Sudanese Certificate examinations in eastern Chad announced on Monday the postponement of the exams, which had been scheduled to begin today, to a later date that has yet to be determined.

Sources told Darfur24 that the decision was made due to the failure to complete the necessary technical and administrative arrangements for the exams, in addition to coordination challenges with some local Chadian authorities.

The sources explained that one of the main obstacles was the lack of available facilities to host examination centers, as schools in eastern Chad are still operating under their regular academic calendar, preventing authorities from preparing classrooms and halls for Sudanese students.

According to the sources, the organizing committee decided to delay the exams in order to avoid disrupting local studies and to ensure a stable and suitable environment for students sitting for the examinations.

The sources added that efforts are ongoing to resolve the logistical difficulties and finalize arrangements related to examination centers in coordination with the Chadian authorities.

Students were urged to remain calm, continue preparing academically, and follow official announcements regarding the new examination schedule once preparations are completed.

Sudanese authorities had previously announced that the alternative Sudanese secondary school certificate examinations for students unable to sit for exams inside Sudan would begin in eastern Chad on May 11.
