Nyala, March 09 (Darfur24)
At least ten people died and several others, including women, were injured after a drone strike believed to belong to the Sudanese army targeted the Al-Junaynah bus station market west of Nyala on Sunday evening, according to residents.
Residents told Darfur24 that a powerful explosion occurred around 10 p.m. near the Tekro roundabout in the Al-Junaynah bus station area, followed by flames rising from the site.
They said the airstrike killed ten people and injured more than seven others, who were transferred to Nyala Teaching Hospital, the Italian Hospital, and nearby health centers for treatment.
Eyewitnesses added that some people were reported missing after the explosion.
Local sources also reported that the strike caused significant damage to several shops in the market due to fires that broke out after the blast.
According to the sources, four explosions were heard in Nyala on Sunday, two in the morning in the eastern part of the city and two later in the evening, including the strike on the Al-Junaynah bus station market.
Nyala, which has been declared the administrative capital of the parallel government formed by the “Establishment” alliance led by the Rapid Support Forces, has recently witnessed repeated and unexplained explosions.
