Dilling, March 02 (Darfur24)
Residential neighborhoods in Dilling, South Kordofan, came under artillery and drone shelling on Monday, resulting in civilian deaths and injuries, according to local sources.
The attack followed a ground assault launched a day earlier by the Rapid Support Forces and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North, which the army said it had repelled.
Sources told Darfur24 that the shelling struck several residential areas, including Al-Turuq, Al-Marafid, Kajanq, Al-Hilla Al-Jadeeda, Billa, Kanjar, and Al-Mak, triggering panic among residents.
They reported civilian casualties, though the exact number of dead and injured is not confirmed.
Residents said the bombardment caused extensive damage to homes and buildings, compounding the hardship faced by civilians amid an already deteriorating security situation.
Dilling has faced repeated drone attacks since the army announced on February 3 that it had lifted the siege on the city, with dozens of civilians killed or injured in recent weeks.
