On Saturday, drones targeted the residence of the West Kordofan governor in El Obeid and several neighborhoods within the city.
El Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan State, has been subjected to intermittent bombings. It serves as a major military operations center and is also the residence of the governor and officials of the West Kordofan State government, which is controlled by the Rapid Support Forces( RSF).
Sources in El Obeid told Darfur24 that drones bombed neighborhoods in the east and center of the city, as well as areas surrounding the army command headquarters.
They indicated that one of the drones bombed the home of West Kordofan Governor Mohamed Adam Mohamed Jaid, who was not present at the time of the attack.
Sources reported that the drone attacks sparked panic among residents, especially as the bombing occurred in the early morning hours. The sounds of blasts were heard in several neighborhoods, with residents attempting to take shelter inside their homes.
Darfur24 was unable to obtain accurate information regarding the extent of the damage or whether there were any casualties as a result of the bombing.
