Al-Abbasiya, February 15(Darfur24)Eyewitnesses reported on Sunday that ten civilians were killed as a landmime blew up last Friday on the Al-Sanadra road, west of Al-Abbasiya town in South Kordofan state.

Eyewitness Abbas Omar Al-Nour told Darfur24 that the mine detonated as residents of Al-Damir village were traveling in a tuk-tuk on the same road.

On January 9, two women were killed and others were injured when a landmine exploded near a lorry carrying passengers on the road between Umm Barmbita and Tandak in South Kordofan.

Landmine explosions have become frequent on the eastern roads of South Kordofan state, raising concerns about the hazards threatening the lives of civilians in the region.
