Blue Nile, January 12 (Darfur24)
The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–North (SPLM-N) on Sunday accused the Sudanese army of carrying out a drone attack that targeted civilians in the Yabus area of Blue Nile State, resulting in dozens of casualties, most of them women and children.
In a statement obtained by Darfur24, the movement said an army drone struck unarmed civilians on Saturday as they were returning from the Yabus daily market and traditional mining sites to their villages.
The SPLM-N reported that the attack allegedly killed 93 people and injured 32 others, who were transferred to hospitals for treatment amid what it described as critical humanitarian conditions.
Darfur24 was unable to independently verify the casualty figures.
