Three people were killed and two others injured on Tuesday after an armed man opened fire on a group of young people in El Geneina, the capital of West Darfur State, local sources said.
Sources told Darfur24 that the gunman fired directly at civilians in the Al-Safa neighborhood of El Geneina, killing three people on the spot and injuring two others, who were taken to the hospital for treatment. The incident triggered panic among residents of the area.
The sources said the motive behind the shooting remains unclear.
Security authorities later arrested the suspect and launched an investigation to determine the circumstances of the attack.
