A military source told Darfur24 that four Rapid Support Forces (RSF) drones struck an ammunition depot in El Obeid, capital of North Kordofan State, on Thursday morning, destroying the facility.
The source speaking anonymously said an assessment is underway to determine the extent of the damage, but confirmed that no casualties have been reported so far.
Residents of El Obeid reported hearing a powerful blast from the depot in the Al-Qubba neighborhood, followed by successive explosions of ammunition across the city.
North Kordofan has seen months of fierce fighting, with the army and RSF trading control of strategic areas. The army recently captured the town of Bara, north of El Obeid, while clashes continue in the city’s western and southern outskirts.
