Director General of Social Welfare and Humanitarian Affairs Coordinator in Darfur Abdulbagi Mohamed Hamid , announced the arrival of a food aid convoy to Al Malha locality, located approximately 210 kilometers from El Fasher, via the Tina border crossing between Sudan and Chad, on Saturday, after a journey that lasted several days.

Hamid explained to Darfur 24 that the convoy includes 18 trucks loaded with approximately 440 metric tons of food, provided by the World Food Programme, to help alleviate the worsening humanitarian crisis facing displaced people in the region.

He indicated that the aid will be distributed to administrative units, village councils, and IDP gathering centers in Al Malha and its surrounding areas, including Mariga, Umm Bayada, Ain Basaro, Al Hara, Jebel Issa, Madu North, and Umm Sayala.

Hamid emphasized the continuation of humanitarian efforts, calling on partners to intensify support to better meet needs, reaffirming the Commission’s commitment to overcoming all challenges to ensure aid reaches all affected people in Darfur region.
