The daily report of the Ministry of Health in South Darfur State on Monday revealed the registration of four new cholera cases, bringing the total number of infected people to 68, including four deaths.
The report indicated that seven patients were discharged from the isolation center after recovering.
The report listed 61 cases from Nyala North, four cases from Nyala South, one case from Nitega and Balil, and one case from Khartoum State.
The report highlighted the Ministry of Health’s efforts to contain the disease and the water safety activities implemented, including disinfecting five open water wells, chlorinating two large water tanks, and 50 water tankers to transport water to the city’s neighborhoods. It also noted the distribution of 1,000 0.33 gram chlorine strips.
The report indicated that the Ministry promoted health and raised awareness among the community through public media campaigns in the Khartoum Balail neighborhoods , Alsad Alali, Ra’iq, and Congo, as well as the Al-Nahda neighborhoods north and west, Doumaya east and west, and Dhakr Halal suburb, in addition to the Al-Malja and Doumaya markets, and the Al-Genina bus station. Awareness campaigns also included the Police, Al-Nahda, and Specialized Hospitals, as well as the Salman Al-Farsi School.
