Prime Minister Kamil Idris was sworn in on Saturday in the presence of the Chairman of Sudan’s Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan.
Al-Burhan met with Kamil, followed by a second meeting with members of the Sovereignty Council.
The Sovereignty Council said in a statement that the meeting between the Chairman and members of the Sovereignty Council and Kamil al-Tayeb Idris discussed the government’s efforts over the past period to achieve economic stability and secure people’s livelihoods.
Kamil Idris stated his commitment to maintaining harmony and cohesion between the Sovereignty Council and the Council of Ministers, in order to serve citizens and achieve their well-being.
In this context, Sovereignty Council members Salma Abdul Jabbar al-Mubarak and Nawara Abu Muhammad Muhammad Tahir were sworn in before Abdel Fattah al-Burhan.
Kamil Idris was appointed Prime Minister, and Salma and Nawara were appointed members of the Sovereignty Council on May 19.
