Khartoum, March 22(Darfur 24)

The Sudanese Army spokesman Brigadier General Nabil Abdullah announced on Saturday the recapture of the headquarters of the Central Bank of Sudan (SBOS), Friendship Hall, the General Intelligence Service building, and other sites.

This development on the ground comes one day after the army and allied forces recaptured the Republican Palace, following days of tightening the noose around the Rapid Support Forces, which had controlled the headquarters since the outbreak of the war.

Nabil Abdullah said in a press statement that the army had taken control of “the Zein Building, the Central Bank of Sudan, the Sahel and Sahara Bank, the Cooperative Tower, Al-Bayan College, the museum, the University of Sudan, and Friendship Hall.”

He said that the army had taken control of the headquarters of the General Intelligence Service, the Corinthia Hotel, and Strategic Facilities Administration.

Sources close to the army are reporting the invasion of Tuti Island and the outbreak of fighting in western Omdurman.
